Regina Emuzyte graduated with honors from Vilnius University, Faculty of Medicine, pediatrician physician specialty. In 1980–1985, she worked in the Research Institute of Experimental and Clinical Medicine as a junior research fellow. She was the beginner of scientific research in Pediatric Allergology in Lithuania. She was the first in Lithuania and in the former Soviet Union to introduce enzyme immunoassay diagnostics of immunoglobulin E and determined atopic asthma risk markers in young children. In 1984, Emuzyte defended PhD thesis on the process of sensitization and the role of prostaglandins in early age children suffering from recurrent respiratory diseases. In 1985–1991, she worked as a senior research fellow at the Mother and Child Health Research Institute, then, until 2002, at the Centre for Pediatrics of Vilnius University, Faculty of Medicine. Since 2002, when the Faculty of Medicine was reorganized, she has been working at Vilnius University Clinic of Children’s Diseases as a senior research fellow.

In 1989, Emuzyte was awarded the scientific title of senior research fellow and received the title of Associate Professor (doc.) in 1998. Since 1993, she has been teaching Pediatric Allergology at  the Clinic of Children’s diseases for doctors at Postgraduate education courses (CME). Emuzyte is the initiator and the curator of Pediatric Allergology CME in Lithuania. She co-authored 36 training-methodological materials, including textbooks, manuals, guides and methodical recommendations.
Emuzyte has the license of an allergist-clinical immunologist and the certificate of a pediatric allergist. In 2006, she acquired the European pediatric allergist diploma.
Since 2000, Emuzyte is the President of Lithuanian Society of Allergology and Clinical Immunology, organizer of the national and international conferences and congresses. From 2003 to 2005, she was a Member at Large of the Executive Committee of the European Academy of Allergology and Clinical Immunology (EAACI). Since 2004, she is the Chair of National board of experts for Allergology and Clinical Immunology, since 2005 – the  national representative of EAACI  Education and Training Committee – Paediatric Allergology (ETC-PA), and the national representative of European ARIA (Allergic Rhinitis and its Impact on Asthma) Committee.

Emuzyte’s research interests focus on allergology and clinical immunology, pediatric allergology. She participated in 4 projects supported by the Lithuanian State Science and Studies Foundation: three of them in allergology (2002, 2006, 2007), together with partners from the Institute of Immunology of Vilnius University. Also, she headed the High Tech programme project of Diagnostics and Investigation of Rhinoviruses in the Pathogenesis of Allergic Diseases (2008–2010), carried out with partners from the Institute of Biotechnology and Institute of Botanics. Since 1999, she has been a senior investigator in 14 clinical trials in allergology.

Alone and together with others Emuzyte has published more than 200 articles in refereed journals including publications with high citation index. She is a member of editorial board in several medical journals.
