Centre established in 2002 when paediatric subdivisions of Medical faculty where integrated into Clinic of children diseases (head – prof. A. Raugale, since 2009 – prof. V. Usonis) with 4 centres and 1 scientific division. In Vilnius city university hospital operating Centre of general and outpatient paediatrics was renamed into Vilnius city university hospital’s Clinic of children diseases. Complete reconstruction and renovation of The centre was performed in 2009 – 2010. The health care  service is organized according to quality managing system ISO 9001/2008.

To divisions of children diseases, one division of children intensive care and reanimation and one subdivision of emergency care and consulting are functioning in The centre. Vilnius central policlinic and The centre are collaborating under special contract. Children since 1 month up to 18 year old of age receiving health care service in The centre.

Emergency care and consulting subdivision.

Emergency care service for Vilnius city paediatric population and specialized the 2nd level consultations for children form all republic. There are available consultations of high qualification general paediatricians, paediatric pulmonologists, cardiologists, endocrinologist, otorhinolaringologist, radiologist, physical medicine and rehabilitation specialists. Ultrasound examinations of heart, abdomen and brains are performing for hospitalized and outpatients also.

The 1st division of children diseases (30 bed-places: 10 paediatric pulmonology and 20 – general paediatrics profile).

Head of the division  - paediatric pulmonologist Vanda Kriukiene.

7 physicians (Nomeda Jokubaitiene, Raimunda Jurgiliene, Danguole Sofija Barauskiene, doc. dr. Sigitas Dumcius, Ramunas Leisys, Egle Garbuziene), 17 paediatric nurses and 14 auxiliary personals works in the division.

 

 

 

 

The 2nd division of children diseases (30 bed-places: 5 paediatric pulmonology, 2 paediatric cardiology and 23 – general paediatrics profile).

Head of the division  – paediatric pulmonologist Violeta Radziūniene. 6 physicians (dr. Dalila Stankute, Ingrida Ksaniene, Laimute Janilioniene, Lijana Svencioniene, Vida Uleckiene, asist. Vaida Aleksandraviciene), 13 paediatric nurses and 9 auxiliary personals works in the division.

 

 

 

 

Division of children intensive care and reanimation (6 bed-places).

Head of the division paediatric intensive care doctor Irena Babianskiene. 6 physicians- intensive care specialists (Neringa Butenienu, Grazina Visciniene, Vilma Tamosaitiene, Goda Cibulskiene, Marius Mejeras), 13 anaesthetics and intensive care nurses also 4 auxiliary personals works in the division.

 

 

 

 

Vilnius university Medical faculty Centre of general and outpatient paediatrics is one places of pedagogic process for Vilnius university’ medical faculty’ students. There is performing  teaching process of solid program of studies “Medicine” and “Odonthology”, postgraduate studies of paediatric and paediatric subspecialty residency. prof. A.Valiulis, assoc. prof. S.Dumcius, m.dr. O.Kinciniene and asist. V.Radziuniene work with students as teachers. There is running clinical research on children’ pneumonia aetiology and planning clinical research on aetiology children  cardiovascular system diseases.

 

Achievements of The centre

National award to prof. A.Raugale for manual “Paediatric clinical pharmacology” in 1992.

Name laureate of Science premium of Lithuanian Republic for labour cycle “Clinics, diagnostics, treatment and prevention of children diseases (1973 – 1993) to prof. A.Raugale with collaborators in 1994.

Four awards of Lithuanian  ministry of Science and education to prof. A.Raugale and co-authors for manual “Children diseases” I-IV tomes in 2003 – 2006.
